God Made You Perfect (Whether you see it or not!) - Gerri Veltri
First of all, God created us. In Genesis 1:27, God says "So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." He specifically says that he made us. He made every little part of us. Not a big bang. If somehow some mass in space just exploded, well then who created that mass? How was that created? The Big Bang can't solve everything, but if you believe God created us and this earth, things make sense. Okay now on to what I wrote this for.
God created us. But he didn't just think "Ah, I guess I should make humans... Here we go!" And made us randomly. No! He made us so specific and he loved doing it! He loves us so much! If you read a little more in Genesis, God actually says "Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!" (Genesis 1:31. God made us and he didn't hate what he made, he loved it. He saw us as good in HIS eyes.
In the book of the Bible called Song of Solomon look what it says. "You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way." (Song of Solomon 4:7). God thinks that in EVERY way we are beautiful. What do you hate most about your body? God thinks its beautiful. And he says it himself.
I know it can be very hard to believe that someone you can't even see or touch thinks you're perfect. It's hard enough to believe that one of your friends thinks you're perfect, but guess what? All you need is one thing: trust. If you can trust that there is a God bigger than yourself that made you and thinks you are beautiful, you will have no trouble blocking out the lies of this world.
But how do you know what are lies and what is truth? Look at this verse: "...the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world..." (Revelation 12:9). Satan deceives us. If the thought you are thinking is negative, then it is from Satan, and if Satan is the father of lies then that thought is a lie.
So what you need to do is trust that there is a wonderful God who created everything you see, who thinks you are absolutely beautiful in his eyes. Think about it. This God created rainbows and waterfalls, everything that is beautiful in this world. And he thinks you are more beautiful than that. So if you trust him (it takes time) you will soon start to believe that even if others don't see it, God sees it which means you are beautiful. There is a verse that says just that, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding." (Proverbs 3:5).
And remember, you are not loved by God just because he sees you as beautiful. No, that is false. God thinks you are beautiful because he loves and created you.
