Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) is a public research university in Manchester, England. In 1970, the university was founded as Manchester Polytechnic. It was later elevated to the rank of a full university in 1992. Manchester School of Art, Manchester School of Theater, and Manchester School of Architecture have all partnered with the institution.

The Further and Higher Education Act of 1992 gave Manchester Polytechnic university status on September 15, 1992. After receiving full university recognition, Manchester Metropolitan University joined and founded a number of other organisations. as an example–

  • Manchester Royal Infirmary
  • Wethington Hospital
