Friday the 13th: The Game will be receiving its final update this month, November 2020, and its dedicated servers will be shut down as well.

Announced by publisher Gun Interactive, Friday the 13th: The Game will still be playable via peer to peer Quick Play and Private Matches, and Database Servers will remain active, which house all player progression and unlocks.

The final patch will fix " a long list of player issues," and finalized patch notes will be made available a week prior to the update going live. Furthermore, the official forums for the game will be archived in a locked state, and game's social channels will be "switching to a more minimal approach, keeping our social media channels active for any necessary announcements only. Those who haven't yet purchased Friday 13th: The Game can still be purchased and they will continue to receive support from JasonKillsBugs.com for troubleshooting. Players will be able to continue to enjoy the double XP, CP and tape drop rates that were established at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our review of Friday 13th: The Game was published in 2017. It was released following a successful Kickstarter campaign. The genuine love shown for the franchise is something I really appreciate. It's a great tribute to Friday, as it warms my Friday-loving heart to see players being hunted down and executed in horrifying scenes. However, the multiplayer-only, asymmetrical action is heavily biased towards Jason. This means that you'll mainly be playing as teenagers rummaging through drawers.

Friday the 13th: The Game had a troubled history as legal disputes forced the team to stop producing any further content. Developer Illfonic released Predator Hunting Grounds in the meantime if you enjoyed the game. It draws heavily from Friday the 13th's gameplay.
