How To Build A Strong DIY Swing Set From Wood!
So I just put in this a little swing set. My son ginger he's five and a half months old right now and he's had a birthday party their day and he was in a little swing for the first time and absolutely loved it so thought I was about time to get out the swing that was mine When I was little so it's at least 25 or so years old, I'm 26, so it's pretty old swing here! The ropes are a little straight now, it's pretty storage for quite some time and the wind's blowing it. And then this is just a swing from Amazon. I might need to go up a little bit ain't. Nothing really for like adults really to play on you'd, probably want some better supports side. You can see. I did it. It'S simple and strong. What I did has got some 10 foot treated four by fours and they're about 30 to 33 inches in the ground, so close to three foot in the ground I did is went down as far as I could, with what I have and then dropped about a Hundred and twenty pounds of concrete down in the hole - and I always make sure when I do that - I have the concrete coming up above the ground and it's sloped someone that way. I don't have water to sitting there rotting away. great site goes right here at ground level is where they tend to rot. I had took these two by sixes, which I to use. I had one on each side and I set him on the ground and made my post just a few inches inside her about five inches inside of this eight foot. Long two, by six and put my posts in you know, got my level out square them up and everything I'm not really square diamond leveled them with a level and let this concrete dry for two days before I even started messing with the swings. All I did was tie these two by six there's one on the outside there's one on the inside, then the fill in the gap a little bit and make it just a little bit stronger. I just took some normal two by fours and there ran on the inside and just screwed in like this, so it's pretty strong. Now that gaps there, because I used two two by fours. If I would use a four by four, it have been closer, but it's okay. I was kind of using spare board for that without having to spend an extra 15 bucks. Now it moves just a little bit. I mean unless you can see it moving at all. They'Re about what you think it would for as high as it is, and the only two supports - and you know concrete really does take closer to 30 days to fully cure, and you know everything like that, but down here at the bottom I mean this thing is Super solid - and I actually just said on the swing a minute ago and carefully - was moving back and forth huh no crack in or no swing. Nothing like that, like I said this isn't made for adults, but if it holds my weight, I'm over about 230 pounds. So it'll work we like it but about to get Gentry out here in a minute and put him in his little swing and that's just for a bigger kid swing when he grows up or if his cousins come over. Our future kids and yeah see I tied those in, and I made it in a little bit. You could've took a, I could have took a 4x4 and put it in the middle, but then I wouldn't have been dealing with long lag bolts or you could put them on top and try and doing that. But I feel this is stronger this way and let them overhang and you could take a router. You know and kind of pretty up the edges, but I made these stick out on purpose and it ended up being about five inches here and five inches down. There took the two by fours in between it, and then I got some oh they're about two and a half three inch long or so I bolts way up in there use my drill. You know you use a drill bit about half the size of the width of the the threads on the eye. Bolt help get you started, I just went in about an inch with them is able to use pliers and and twist them in the rest the way but yeah. That'S it for this video. Hopefully, if you're wanting to kind of make one yourself and not have to buy something crazy, expensive or something last very long at Walmart for hundreds of dollars, this is the side trying to get different angles here for you and then I'm gon na go through and Stain it once my wife takes out a good color here, I really want everything to be red Red's. My favorite color see a painted fence and everything that color, but it looks like thanks for watching, see you later bye, bye,
