Understanding Air India's name correction policy

Air India's name correction policy is designed to address minor errors in passenger names. This includes typographical mistakes, misspellings, or minor alterations. However, it's essential to note that the policy does not permit complete name changes or transferring tickets to another individual. The correction must pertain to the same individual as originally booked. The policy applies exclusively to unused tickets. Once a ticket has been partially or fully utilized, name corrections are no longer permissible. Additionally, if your booking includes segments operated by other airlines, Air India cannot process name corrections for those portions. In such cases, a new booking with the correct name in the available booking class should be created.​​
