FRP Pultruded Profiles Guide

FRP pultrusion profiles, as the name implies, refer to profiles produced by pultrusion process. "Pultrusion" combines "pulling" and "extruding" to pultruded and stretch raw materials.

In the standard pultrusion process, glass fiber, resin, and auxiliary materials are the three major elements. First, the glass fiber is put into the resin as a reinforcing material to soak, and then the resin is coagulated and polymerized through a heated fixed mold with a separate pre-forming system. The impregnation process can be completed by pulling the reinforcement material through the soaking bath solution or injecting the resin into the injection cavity connected with the mold. A variety of resins can be used for pultrusion, including commonly used thermosetting resins such as polyurethane, polyester, vinyl, and epoxy. Its characteristics are corrosion resistance, UV resistance, impact resistance, etc., while glass fiber provides a strong guarantee.

Due to these characteristics of FRP profiles, in recent years, the industrial output and the use of materials in industrialized countries have been growing every year. In addition to the continuous innovation and development of technology, the application of various profiles has been promoted. Especially in the automotive field, the demand for this technology is particularly obvious. In addition, this product technology can also be used in agriculture and the chemical industry to manufacture livestock facilities, The chemical plant building has a corrosion-resistant fiberglass floor. In the construction industry, it can be used for reinforcing bars of profiles, carcass, PVC windows, etc; In the field of aerospace, it is used to manufacture structural components of aircraft; In sports and tourism, it is used to manufacture equipment with high strength characteristics: skis, ski poles, golf course flagpoles, tents and shed structures, etc; In electric power engineering, glass fiber rod used for insulator and support structure of signal block element.
