Bloodhound Autonomous Human Scent Tracking Drone
If you’re a first responder — say, searching for someone lost in the outback, or underneath an avalanche, wouldn't it nice to be able to find them just on the victims ammonia scent? Well in 1967 we (USA) did that with the People Sniffer:
"In 1967, US troops in Vietnam were equipped with the GE People Sniffer, a device designed to detect human scent - eventually from helocopters as soldiers hand carrying it caused too many false alarms. Sweating could get you killed in Vietnam..." Here is the link to the article:

So how do you make a ammonia sniffer and a Arduino to monitor it's Ammonia sensor? Well this guy shows you how in a YouTube video below. However, you will need a minature 5 volt muffin fan from a laptop cooler pad and a short piece of light thin PVC to act as the probocis (aka nose) or directional scent funnel (and a 5 volt battery). Then with it attached to your drone you fly around until your ammonia gas readings start to peak. Then there must be either a human there or a monkey. I'll not bet on the monkey...

Now mount it on your quadcopter drone...

You dont actually need a radio telemetry link. You can have the Arduino make a beeper (with a loudspeaker) get faster or slower like a Gieger counter and a bright flashing LED that you can hear and see over the avalanche field. When the ammonia gas peaks the beeper is really clicking fast and loud. The target must be close...
