FIFA 15 Holds off Mordor, Forza, Smash in this Week's uK Charts
FIFA 15 survived a three-way attack to score a second week as the UK No. Despite a 70% drop in sales, it was No. 1. The soccer simulator from EA swung its way past multiplatform action-RPG Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and racer that is Xbox-only Forza Horizon 2 and porta-brawler Super Smash Bros 3DS, finishing third, second and fourth, respectively. While the three new releases could not topple the love of the United Kingdom for FIFA (and let's face it there aren't many that could), they were able to surpass Destiny the Bungie shooter, which dropped from second to fifth place during its fourth week of sale.
With the exception of the PS4 retail version of Minecraft (which UK databod Chart Track indicates as a different platform for Minecraft: PlayStation Edition) Another new release in the top 40 was Crimes & Punishments: Sherlock Holmes in 27th. Finally, while Chart Track tends to hold the specific sales figures for certain games however, it did reveal some interesting differentials between platforms for a handful of this week's big hitters. For instance the Shadow of Mordor split was 56 percent PS4, 41 percent Xbox One, Xbox One, and 3 percent PC (that does not include downloads), while Forza Horizon 2 had a 73: 27 ratio between Xbox One 360 and Xbox 360.
