The 'Real Dream Team' U.S. Basketball Wins 61 in a row and 8 in a row at the Olympics

 2024 Paris Olympics

The "Real Dream Team" U.S. women's basketball team has won 61 consecutive Olympics and 8 consecutive games.

The U.S. won the women's basketball final at the 2024 Paris Olympics against France at the Versi Arena in Paris on the 11th, achieving an unprecedented eight-game winning streak.

The finals, which predicted the U.S. overwhelming dominance, showed off its best performance in the home ground, and showed even performance. It is the first time that the U.S. has won a final match by a single digit in the course of its seven consecutive wins. The team won the match against Australia at the 2004 Athens Olympics with the smallest margin of victory (74-63).

There has never been an eight-game losing streak in the history of basketball at the Olympics. The U.S. men's basketball team won the title from the 1936 Berlin Olympics to the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, and won the title for the seventh consecutive time, but lost to the former Soviet Union after controversy at the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Since then, NBA players have started participating in the games since 1992, and the world of the U.S. seemed to continue, but it was frustrated at the 2004 Athens Olympics. It started anew from the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and is currently losing five consecutive games.

Starting with the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, the U.S. women's basketball team swept all of the Olympic Games in the 21st century, marking the first eight consecutive wins in the history of the U.S. women's basketball. She proved once again that she is a real dream team, never losing a single time in the process.

The U.S. also enjoyed eight consecutive wins in women's basketball and No. 1 overall at the Paris Olympics. Thanks to the "real dream team," it added one gold medal, tying China with 40. Instead, it had 44 silver medals, ahead of China with 27. In total, the U.S. had 126 medals, beating China with 91. Eventually, it remained the world's strongest by ranking No. 1 overall for four consecutive times.

Aiza Wilson scored 21 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks, Kalea Copper scored 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and Kelsey Plum scored 12 points and 4 assists.

Nafisha Collier (7 points and 11 rebounds) and Brianna Stewart (8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks) also showed off their support shots.

"Living Legend" Diana Taurasi did not play in the final, but won her sixth gold medal. She became the most gold medal-winning basketball player of all time, beating Sue Bird, who retired after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

France's Gabi Williams scored 19 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals, but failed to overcome the last crisis.

Marine Johannes' difficulty in fielding was regrettable. He scored nine points, but his 3-point shooting rate was 12.5 percent (1/8).  동행복권파워볼

Meanwhile, Australia defeated Belgium 85-81 in a neck-and-neck race in the bronze medal match. Australia won the first Olympic medal in 12 years since the 2012 London Olympics.
