Here's an Neat Minecraft Model that Restores an Old Castle to its Former Glory
Xbox has partnered with the preservation society National Trust (opens in new tab) as well as a group of British creatives to create a Minecraft model of Corfe Castle. The complex impressive construction was funded by Xbox UK as part of the National Trust's festival of archaeology which encourages people to design "their own version of the castle using the foundations."
Grian is a YouTube video maker, has created this first build. You can watch his work in the video below as well as on YouTube. (opens in the new tab) Grian created a build that highlights the most striking Corfe Castle's highlights, such as its historical octagonal tower miniature palace, and "Gloriette". As I understand it is similar to a medieval kingly version of the Victorian folly.
"Grian has done a brilliant job of restoring Corfe Castle to its former glory. He not only managed to create an exact replica of the various historical styles in the castle grounds, but also combined it with his own imagination. We cannot wait to see more innovative designs created by young minds," said Martin Papworth, an archaeologist at the National Trust.
