History

Located in the heart of Regent's Park, Regent's University London is housed on a campus with a long tradition of learning and prosperity.

In order to provide a "study abroad" program and courses with a distinctly British flavour, Rockford College in Illinois bought the Crown lease in 1984 and founded Regent's College (Churchill and King Arthur were included). Since the first ones arrived in 1985, there has been a continual flow of American students despite the demands of world events. (Trees in the grounds honour two students who died at Lockerbie.)

As time went on, other institutions began moving to the area. The European Business School was founded in 1985, while the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling was established in 1990. A business school called Regent's was established in 1997. In order to create Regent's College London for official use, these institutions came together in 2006. In 2013, the College began to offer fashion and design studies after acquiring AIU in Marylebone. 2010 saw the initial introduction of programmes in drama, film, and media.

In 2012, Regent's College was granted independent permission to grant taught degrees, and the institution was given university status in 2013. Thus, in June 2013, Regent's University London made its entrance official.

Accommodation

Over time, other institutions began moving to the location. The European Business School first opened its doors in 1985, and the School of Psychotherapy and Counseling soon after in 1990. The Regent's Business School was established in 1997. These institutions merged in 2006 to form Regent's College London, which was used for official purposes. The College began to offer fashion and design courses after acquiring AIU in Marylebone in 2013. The first drama, film, and media programmes debuted in 2010.

In 2012, Regent's College was granted its own licence to grant taught degrees, and the following year, the college was granted university status. So, in June 2013, Regent's University London formally opened its doors.

• On Campus Accommodation: Their residence halls are situated on the lovely, green, leafy grounds of our Regent’s Park campus, with views of the surrounding gardens, lake, and park. You can unwind and socialize while still being close to the busy West End shops and nightlife when you live in a residence hall. Furthermore, the primary campus residence hall, Reid Hall, houses students in a mix of single and twin rooms over four floors, all of which have free Wi-Fi. A single room is around 115 square feet, whereas a twin room is approximately 130 square feet (with two beds, two desks, two closets, and two chairs).

• Urbanest St Pancras Accommodation: They’ve collaborated with Urbanest St Pancras to offer Zone 1 studios and apartments for Regent’s students. Urbanest offers a total of 81 beds arranged into self-contained studios, shared duplex flats with an suite rooms, shared single-level flats with an suite rooms, 3 bed shared flats, and a twin en suite room at a variety of price ranges.

Transport

• By Underground: Baker Street station is reached by taking the London Underground (Tube). Use the Transport for London Journey Planner at www.tfl.gov.uk to assist in planning your trip.
• By Road: Off Marylebone Road (A501), the Regent’s Park campus is located in the heart of London.
• By Eurostar: From King’s Cross St. Pancras station, home of the Eurostar, take the London Underground to Baker Street station. 10 minutes or so is the approximate total travel time to Baker Street station.
• From London Heathrow Airport: Service on the Heathrow Express train to Paddington station. From Paddington to Baker Street station, use the London Underground. It takes about 35 minutes to complete the trek.
• From London Gatwick Airport: Victoria station is served by the Gatwick Express train. From Victoria to Baker Street station, use the London Underground. Time spent traveling is roughly 60 minutes.
• From London City Airport: Canning Town station is reached by the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). From Canning Town to Baker Street station, use the London Underground. It takes about 45 minutes to complete the route.
