First Monday Trade Days may be an event that is well-known in East Texas, but that isn't stopping hundreds of thousands of visitors from visiting in the Canton area Canton for 4 days every month. They are open from Thursday until Sunday until the beginning of the month on the First Monday every month, hundreds and vendors set up shop for shoppers with hundreds of choices.
It was first introduced more than century ago as a flea market , has since become home to some coolest, cutting-edge furniture, antiques, and collectibles found everywhere. Over the past 150 years, a lot of things have changed at that Original First Monday Park; but the genuine, down-home relationship between sellers and consumers is the main reason why they are always returning.

According to The First Monday Trade Days website, it is the longest and oldest continuous outdoor flea fair throughout the United States.

According to those who are in trading, idea that led to the idea of First Monday Trade Days started in the 1850's as the circuit judge would journey to Canton on the First Monday of each month. Residents from all over the county came into the city to take part in court cases. Overtime, residents would bring their own products, whether it was livestock, food items, or other original items to sell or trade. In canton trade days , First Monday outgrew the city's Town Square so it was moved to its current location. The rest is history...
First Monday Trade Days is made up of a variety of private sellers so odds are that, regardless of how many times you visit but you'll never actually see it all. The flea-market is situated in a large area that covers more than 700,00 square feet worth of shopping.
Attending First Monday is free, however, the majority parking spaces surrounding the trade area charge $5 to park.
