Enlighten A totally cool remade story by Hosodun and Vaud The birds were chirping from the distance, the trees were solemnly shifting from right to left, the sun had finally rose from its slumber, and the flowers were blooming from a gaze. Instead of sleeping, I was instead wide awake, looking at the morning sky that shined upon me. I quite didn’t know what to do today since I wasn’t really feeling like doing much and that everything felt too perfect at the moment. It was just another Sunday morning and Sunday is usually the day I just rest, despite the fact I usually have to work atleast everyday at times. I had my night dress on, the den felt very quiet, and I hugged my plushie my mom gave me when I was small. I do wish I can see her now, since she’s sadly now gone due to dying through tuberculous in the winter while she was traveling alone. But, let’s not get on that subject since I don’t want to have the feels again. I suddenly felt hungry as my stomach started to rumble quietly. I guess that’s what happen when you fast to cleanse yourself. But anyways, I guess it was now time to finally get something to eat for once. I stood up from my large yet deeply quiet den to go find something that’ll satisfy me, like... a berry or something, I don’t know. I walked through the drapes that hanged beneath the front of my den, and therefore, was somewhat ready to start my day. If you’re wondering why I didn’t do the usual things people do in the morning, is because that I don’t like doing those things, problem solved. I’m more of an “I just wanna get my day started and ended” person than just an “I wanna take my time and enjoy my day” person. Anyways, I went to the place I’d usually always go for breakfast, Inresit Lake. Inresit Lake is a lake that is mostly known for giving you internal peace, but also does help calm you from stress and really keeps your scales clean. Not much people come there due to it being so small, but yet, it’s very beautiful to be at in my opinion. It’s also home to lush berries, fish, everything you’d expect. I go there almost atleast everyday for either of course breakfast or just to sleep. You’d expect me to find “inner peace” or “complete peace” here, but we all know there’s no such thing in our world. Sure, we have peace, but not total peace. I wanted to fly to Inresit Lake, but since I am somewhat not in the mood to do anything that involves moving your body a lot, I just decided to walk there. It’s a very long walk, but hey, at least I’m getting some energy done. 2. Since going to Inresit Lake is far away, I had to pass through a couple of locations throughout the Kekjai territory before I even went to Inresit; Kekjai Village, which is one of the main villages in the territory, The Egg Center, which I stopped for a few minutes to look at the eggs and newborns... gosh darn my feminine love for children. After, I had to go through Hurinzo Forest, one of the biggest forests and place in the Kekjai territory, and when I say big, I meant big. It took about 45 minutes just to get passed the whole forest, since it was mostly like some impossible maze, despise the beautiful views and trees there. Finally, I had to go through another forest, which was a bit small but very beautiful, too. It was called Iirja Forest, named after Iirja, the dragon who of course created the forest. And yes, a dragon named Hurinzo made the Hurinzo forest, too. What? You thought these were just random names slapped together and made something officially? Nope. These were ancient and old names that were inspired for many centuries. Also, I think I’m giving out too much information about the territories and such, maybe I’ll just somewhat “tell” the rest of the territories later. After an agonizing hour and half traveling throughout all those territories, and that it’s gladly still breakfast at the moment, I finally reached Inresit Lake. Now, since I can’t show you what it looks like, just atleast try to picture what it looks like, instead, because this is a lake that you’re dying to see. But let’s not go sightseeing right now, I need some food before I somewhat collapse. I walked throughout some trees that had some fresh berries that grew out from the branches, there were in different colors, shape, size, and looks, and they were of course ready to be gnawed down by a very hungry dragon... which is me. I looked at one tree, which was small with very few branches, and had a beautiful “glow” in it (Probably cause of the sun reflecting over it). It was growing blueberries, one of my favorite kinds of berries because it has that... exquisite “taste explosion” in it. Even though all the berries I taste are kind of the same, but I just prefer blue berries more since they are more soft, plump, and just very tasty to just literally smoosh inside of your mouth I then scrunched down on my legs to reach to the small tree to get its berries, but as I did, I got a sudden surprise. Out of nowhere, a dragon with blue and white scales, looking like it was twice as tall of me, was somewhat also trying to grab on one of the blueberries from the tree. It was wearing a bag full of arrows, had stripes all over its chest and legs; I guess it’s a warrior or something. But... there’s something that’s oddly familiar about it. It grabbed one of the berries and suddenly looked at me out of surprise. It stared for a few seconds to try to get a clear view of me, since I’m somewhat so short for its height. “Oh! Pardon me, I didn’t see you there.” It said as it put its arm on its back, feeling a bit embarrassed to suddenly come upon me. “Oh, it’s um, alright. I didn’t see you come over here so I just thought um yea...” I said out of nervousness, since I’m not good at being around people I don’t know. “Well, I flew over here and I quite never saw even a glimpse of you here. Did you walk here or flew from the other side?” It asked. “I... walked.” I said. “Why did you walk? You’re a dragon with beautiful wings that should’ve soar throughout the skies of Kekjai!” It said. “Well... I... um didn’t feel like flying this time. I just wanted some um, exercise.” I said as I tried to make the best excuse ever, even though it was bad. “Ah, well, if you wanted, you do um... you. Also, I quite didn’t catch your name, yes, what is it I presume?” “It’s um... Zeruiah. Zeruiah um... Katari. It’s... nice to meet you.” I said as I nervously responded to it. “Wait, Zeruiah?” It said as it suddenly felt like as it already notice me. It then walks close to me and whiffs out one of the hair out of my left purple eye. And yet, I was suddenly surprised to notice who it was, too. “Gah! I thought you were some random girl I was trying to sweet talk to! Dang it, your voice is just so unrecognizable.” It said as it felt a bit dumb to realize of how the person it tried to sweet talk to was... his sister. “Come on, Aethelhard, you’ve known me, my looks, my desires, and my voice for over a century now, and yet, you can’t remember a glimpse of my voice?” I said as I hit on the shoulders, softly, as to show how much of a dumb dragon he was. “Sis, you should know me by now. I have trouble remembering things.” He said. “Oh, but you don’t have trouble sweet talking girls?” I said as I literally just put the sense knocked into him. “OH MY- Zeruiah, you are getting on my last nerves right now.” He said as he blushed out of embarrassment, knowing that what I said was obviously true. Come on, he was literally bring up ‘beautiful wings’, how could he NOT try to sweet talk me? “I’m not getting on your last nerves, I’m just proving you wrong, and me right.” I said as I felt a bit victorious. He may be 117 years old, and me being 115 years old, atleast I can be able to conquer over him. He put his hands over his face and kept spouting out random words out of anger, since he’s really feeling the truth right now. “Gosh darn it, Zeruiah! I am 2 years older than you, I am a higher rank than you, I am your older brother! I take care of you, and you have no literal right to treat me like this!” “But, you’re not dad. Atleast dad doesn’t yell at me and brag about him being older than me and being a higher rank than me.” I said. “Gah!” He felt so enraged, he was close to hitting me. “Ugh, you better be happy I can’t hit you. One, cause you’re a girl, and Two, cause you’re my sister and that I love you.” He said. “That’s three reasons.” I said. “That!... isn’t the point, ok? Listen, dad... I don’t know where he is... and... Mom’s dead. We’re just helping each other out, defending each other, and caring for one another. I don’t want to feel weak. I don’t want to feel like I’m not strong enough to take care of you. I love you as my sister, and I never want to leave you, nor separate from you. I hold you on my arms when you were just born as you hatched out of mom’s egg. Mom always told me that if she or dad ever died, she promised to me that I would always take care of you, no matter what happens. I know this is a bit much, but, you know that I hate it when you make me feel like this...” He felt really serious about what he said. Which is somewhat making me feel bad now. Gosh darn it. He just use the power of reverse psychology on me. But yea, he is right. Mom did promise that if she or dad ever died, he would always take care of me and make sure nothing ever happens to me, no matter the problem, crisis, or disaster. And man, that’s a huge promise to do for Mom. He’d look like as he was going to cry, since basically he does misses our Mom and Dad dearly, or that he’s crying that I just knocked sense into him. I don’t know. He gives me some berries from the small tree and hands it to me. “You... go continue eating your breakfast. I think I lost my appitite for now. See ya, Zeruiah” He then hugs me tightly for a few seconds, even though it more of a choke hold than a hug, I quite enjoyed it, since he was very soft scales. I hugged back after. He then looks at me with a warm smile, then by waving at me and suddenly walking away and then flying within a flash. I waved back, but it was too late. “See ya... brother.” I said as I looked as he flew from Inresit Lake, turning into a tiny-like speck, since he’s quite fast. I then looked at the berries he gave me and I smiled a little, as a little thank you for what he did for me. I mean, I’m still going to mess with him, but only when it’s necessary. “Welp, I ain’t letting these good berries go out of waste. Down the hatch.” I then sat down by a tree stump, and ate my berries, so I could continue my breakfast. “Ah... now that... is good.” 3. After I ate my breakfast, I somewhat decided to have a small walk over it and just have some time thinking to myself. Usually, I never do these kinds of stuff unless I’m really having some deep thoughts or troubles, and if I’m somewhat just doing this for some reason, then I guess it’s because of some deep thoughts I’m dealing with. I guess it’s because of how Aethelhard felt and stuff. I wasn’t trying to mock him, I was just really just stinging up the truth about him and stuff. He’s done this shenanigan a lot of times, but this time, it somewhat just gave me that strange feel... a feel I’d rarely ever deal with... guilt. Now, I’m not the queen of not feeling guilt and such, everyone can feel guilt, even if they’re hiding it, but I can rarely feel it. The only times I can really feel guilt is if something I do that really affects someone badly, like accidentally murdering them or framing them. It’s kind of strange of how me mocking him led him to do this kind of stuff again, I heard it more than the days I’ve lived on this Earth. It’s like a repeated cycle of something. I do something to him, he gets mad, I keep doing it, and then he brings up that “Mom is dead and Dad is nowhere to be seen” business, and then it repeats again later on. Despise of him using the same old, same old, it always just makes me feel bad. I don’t mean to treat him like some laugh toy or some joke, I just like doing it because I just want to. I haven’t found a real and good reason to why, but I’ll probably know later on. I just kept talking and talking to myself for minutes and minutes, feeling like as if time was just passing by through years itself. I was slowly questioning myself, I was feeling guilty but not like super guilty, just a small bit of guilt. Suddenly, I heard a faint voice coming from the distance, I quickly turned my head back and forth, wondering where it was coming from... “Zeruiah!....” “Zeruiah!....” “Zeruiah!....” It repeatedly said my name, giving me even more concern to who it was. It sounded feminine, so I knew it wasn’t Aethelhard, but the voice was so far away and so quiet, I couldn’t quite tell who it was. As it kept getting closer and closer to me, its voice became less quitter and more hearable. I decided to walk to the strange voice and see who it was and responded as I did. “Hello! Do you hear me?” “Yes...! I hear you! It’s me!” It said as it was coming closer and closer. “Me who?” “It’s Vi...” It was coming close to me so fast, it suddenly flew right onto me and landed straight on my face, and plowed me down. “Ow that hurts... who the flip are you?” I said as I was trying to get up from its huge body. “I’m... ooh... my back.” It said as it was standing up, cracking its back as it did. “I’m Visuren. Ms. Visuren. The lady who’s children you take care off whenever I’m gone.” “Oh! Hi, Ms. Visuren! Gosh, what’s with all the sudden appearances this morning?” She brushed herself as she was speaking. “Hello, Zeruiah. Lovely morning, hmm? Sorry if I bumped into you, it’s this dense fog here that caused me to accidently hit you... gosh darn winds. I really hope you aren’t hurt, dear.” “Nah, nah. I ain’t hurt. We amorevoulous dragons are impervious to pain.” I said. “Impervious?” She said as she raised her eyebrow and putted her hands on her hips. “Okay..., sometimes impervious.” I said as I rolled my eyes, since no dragons except Insurlis is completely impervious to pain. “Heh. But, anyways, I am in need to go to an important meeting in the Kekjai Kingdom and I need you to take care of my cute little dragon children, can you?” She said. “Sure! Your kids are just very adorable and thank gosh, well behaved.” I said. “Nothing but a bit of strictness and mostly love and care will make them be the kind hearted children they are. But sometimes they do some troubles, but can be easily be filled with guilt over it.” She said as she reached onto her bag, reaching something. “I can relate.” I said as I mumbled and rolled my eyes. Out of her bag, she holds a small toy that had a bead-like circle. She then hands it to me. “Give this to my smallest child, she loves to teeth on it. Also, if you let it go from her sight or mouth, she’ll go berserk and cry for a long time... and nothing, and I mean nothing won’t calm her but herself. So please, keep it onto herself. Oh, and give this to my oldest child.” “Oldest child? Her oldest child is only 50! And I thought that her children were kind hearted- oh... wait. Her youngest child is a BABY.” I said in my head. She then reaches to her bag and hands out another toy, looking like a tiny punching bag. Wow, she really knows what her kids love... and not go berserk on and let her be in peace. “Here, this is my other child’s toy. Now, he doesn’t go berserk if he loses it, so thank gosh he doesn’t.” “Wow... your um... kids really love toys, huh?” I said as I was holding both the small toys. “I realized it’s the only way they won’t bother me when I’m doing important things... and it’s the only way they can sleep.” She said. “Yet again, I can relate. Ha.” I said. “Well, I’ll fly you over to my place so you can know where it is if you want. The fog is still dense right now and I don’t want you hurt or lost.” She said. “I mean, I’ve been to your den a million times, I went through it in snow, rain, everything. Even in fog once, I’m pretty sure I’ll be fine.” I said. She lives near Jeuzmi Village, the least popular but most peaceful, place in the Kekjai territory. It’s like the main village, Kekjai Village, but more smaller and has only just couples with small families there. “But, heck, why not?” “Ah, alright. Let’s go!” She grabs my hand and suddenly starts flying away from Inresit Lake. 4. Ms. Visuren is a really nice lady, let’s be honest. She’s one of the Kings and Queen’s trusted dragons, she’s known for her very own daycare center in the Egg Center that’s near me, and that she’s always working hard. Gosh, she’s more experienced than me in so many levels. Maybe because she’s 240... We passed through the thick fog that kind of blinded me for a couple of minutes; to be honest I thought I lost conscious or something when everyone looked blank. It took only 30 minutes to get to her place, since she flies twice as fast as me and has more agility, despite her being in her 240’s... (Which is her 40s by the way). Her den was small, but was very well decorated and looked like it was some secret private club party or something, or basically your average knitting party. We stopped flying and went down onto the ground, softly. “Well, here we are! My dearest den.” She said as she was walked inside the den. “Yea, I should’ve went alone.” I said, thinking to myself. As she walked in, her children, Nizui (the male one) and Chizi (the female one), instantly came to her and suddenly tramped her down as soon as they saw her. “Momma! I miss you! Where were you!!?” Both of them said as they were surprised to see their mother home. If they were this desperate of seeing her home, I wonder how long she was gone before she came to me. She kisses both of them, as she missed them too. “Aw, I miss you too, kids! Sorry if I was gone for so long, I had to finish my job at the daycare! Now I somewhat has to go to an important meeting in the Kekjai Kingdom, but don’t worry, your dear old babysitter, Zeruiah is here to take care of you!” “Hey...” I said as I waved to both of them, worried to that they’ll trample me, too. “Ah don’t worry, we won’t trample you! We only trample our mommy because we care for her so much and miss her.” Nizui said as he smiled. Wait... so the reason they don’t trample me because they don’t care about me as much? Rude. “I know you’ve been taking care of my kids for years, but please, do anything to keep them from getting hurt or harmed. You’re my most trusted babysitter and I will do anything to make you help take care of my kids.” She said. Yea, I’ve been in the babysitting business for 3 decades, and that I’ve enjoyed every single one since, so it wasn’t really much as a pain. “So, you got everything you need before I leave?” She asked. “Yes, I got the toys you gave me, my bag full of my babysitting stuff,” I then mumbled as I counted all the babysitting equipment I had. “Some bottles, some emergency stuff, my healing potions, etc, etc, etc…” Ms. Visuren stops me as she touches my shoulder. “Hey, got to go. I’ll be back in a few hours, and make sure my children are asleep by then.” “Wait, asleep? It’s 11 in the morning. Why would they sleep in the afternoon?” I said. “They’re more of ‘night dragons’, so basically if they don’t get their afternoon sleep, they’ll be up for like two days.” She said. “Why would you now tell me this?” I asked. “I’m not good at remembering things, ok?” She said. “I can relate.” I said. “You relate to everything.” She said. “Exactly.” I said. “Heh. This is why I chose you to babysit. Anyways, I have to go. Bye kids! Mommy will be home in a few hours!” She waves to them goodbye as she left out of den. “Bye Mom!” Both of her children said; she then flies away to go attend to her meeting in the Kekjai Kingdom. “Heh, you have a really hard working Mom.” I said as I looked at them. “Well, duh! She’s obviously the best Mom ever! She cares for us and is a super duper cluper hard worker! Seeing her come home is like seeing our Dad come home! Even though I haven’t seen daddy in a decade...” Chizi said as she pouted her ears down in sadness. Woah, they also have a Dad that is gone? I can of course, relate. “I wish I had a Mom like that... sadly she’s gone.” I said. “Gone to go somewhere?” They asked. “No, gone... gone.” I said. “Oh... aw I hope she’s in the heavens now.” Chizi said. “She’s always been a good Mom. I know she is.” I said as went out of den, and looked at the sky, pretending to see my Mom flying over it, waving at me. I smiled a little and said, “Love you always, Mom.” I then raise my hand up in the air, to act like as if I was holding her hand. “No matter what we go through, no matter what the pain or turmoil we go through, I know we’ll make it. Because of you.” I then clenched my hands to a fist and looked at it for a few seconds. “You may be gone, but heck, I know that you’re probably not watching over us and busy enjoying heaven. But I know Insurlis will. Me and Aethelhard promise to fully accomplish our dreams.” Suddenly, I was stopped when Chizi came to me. “Hey, are you talking to yourself?” Chizi said as she came out of den, looking confused to what I was doing. I suddenly stopped talking to myself and suddenly turn at Chizi. “No. I was talking to somebody for a few seconds.” “But I kept hearing Mom...” Chizi said. “We were talking about our Moms.” I said. “Oh, okay. Come on, let’s have some fun together!” Chizi said. “Oh, do you want to um... play with some toys or read a book or...” I said as I wondered what she wanted to play. She has such a style when it comes to choosing what to do. But if there’s something that she’d rarely ask was if she wanted to explore the territories around Kekjai with her brother. “No! I want to um... walk around from here to Cibosity Market! I’d always love to go there at times! But Mommy isn’t around, so can you please take us?” Chizi asked as she grabbed my cloth. I spoke to soon, didn’t I? Yep, I did. “Alright, alright. Go tell your brother to get some pants on or something.” “But baby dragons wearing diapers in public isn’t really embarrassing. I’ve seen tons of parents carry their babies around wearing diapers!” Chizi said. Gosh, I thought she said the PARENTS were the one wearing the diapers. Darn my feeble mind. “Well... oh, fine. Come on, Nizui, Chizi. Let’s go get some... fresh air.” I said. “Yay!” They both said, excitedly. “We’re going to have so much fine, right Nizui!?” Chizi said. “Yea! We’re gong to hav fun now yay!” Nizui said. “Woah, what’s with the sudden baby language?” I asked. “Sometimes, he forget to speak the age he is, so sometimes, he can speak like... a baby! Gasp!” Chizi said. “Yea... shocking.” I said, sarcastically as I rolled my eyes. “Stop acting sarcastic!” Chizi said. “Wha, how you know I was being... are you reading my mind!?” I asked. “No, Mommy uses a lot of sarcasm a lot, so I can sense if someone is being sarcastic.” Chizi said. “Darn... I forgot mothers use that method.” I said, thinking. “Anyways, let me just grab you...” I grabbed Chizi and holded her in my arms. “And you too...” I then grabbed Nizui’s arm and holded it with mines. “Phew, good thing I didn’t take my bag off.” I said in relieve as I didn’t had to move anything else but just them. “Let’s go!” I said. “Yay!” Both of them said cheerfully. 5. The only times I can really feel guilt is if something I do that really affects someone badly, like accidently murdering them or framing them. Ms. Visuren. The lady who’s children you take care of whenever I’m gone.” “Oh! Hi, Ms. It’s like the main village, Kekjai Village, but smaller and has only just couples with small families there. She cares for us and is a super duper hard worker! Me and Aethelhard promise to fully accomplish our dreams.” “Hey, are you talking to yourself?” Chizi said as she came out of the den, looking confused to what I was doing. “So... where would you like to go first?” I asked them. “Let’s go to Cibosity Market!” Chizi said. “No! Let’s go to Desuri Town! I love to see those archers!” Nizui said. “Nah, Cibosity Market is better. There’s food!” Chizi said. “Nah, Desuri Town is better. There’s archers and lots of training!” Nizui said. “But you’ve never been to Desuri Town! How do you know there’s archers?” Chizi said. “My teacher tells me about it!” Nizui said. “If you do, then you should’ve known a lot about it!” Chizi said. “She didn’t tell me much!” Nizui said. “She should have!” Chizi said. “Doh. You’re right. Hmm. Wait! Let’s have Zeruiah choose where to go!” Nizui said. Chizi nodded in agreement. “Yea, that’ll work! Zeruiah, can YOU choose where we should go?” Chizi asked. Wow, these kids can handle fights better than me and Aethelhard. They literally disagreed with each other and easily just solved it without hesitation, while I and Aethelhard go into a huge war over choosing what juice we should buy. “Let’s go to um... Cibosity Market!” I said. “Is that fine for you two?” “Yea!” Chizi said. “I’m hungry by the way, so why not?” Nizui said. “Alright then, let’s go... again!” I said. “Do you want me to walk or fly you guys there?” “Walk!” Both of them said. “Of course...” I said in my head. “Walking it is!” I said. “Can’t believe I got to walk a long time again...” I sighed. We then started walking away from Jeizumi Village, and went onto to Cibosity Market. 5. As we were walking towards Cibosity Market, and since that I didn’t want to feel like I was running the longest marathon ever, I decided to try and entertain the kids with some stories. “So kids, wanna hear a story?” I asked. “What kind of story?” Chizi asked. “Um... any story you want!” I asked. “Oh! How about the part of where ba” Nizui said before Chizi stopped him by putting her hands on his mouth. “Don’t tell her that story! It’s too traumatizing!” Chizi told Nizui. “Alright, alright.” Nizui said in agreement. “Wait, what was he going to say?” I asked. “Nothing! How about let’s just do the story about um... how the territories were made! Or um... why the universe was made... or um, oh yea! How about why the Zeoki’s leader is so baaad?” Chizi said. I suddenly had a spark inside my head. “Kritana...” I felt like that name reminds me of something... I haven’t heard that name in a long while. “Hey, who is Kritana?” I asked. Chizi gasped as she realized I didn’t know who this ‘Kritana’ guy or gal was. “What!? You don’t know Kritana!?!? Everyone in KEKJAI knows Kritana!” “Well, I don’t.” I said. “Well, I can tell you who he is.” Chizi said. “Tell away.” I said. “Ok, so Kritana is a... suuppper bad guy right? He wanted to do um... war! Yea, war. He wanted to do war on the Kekjai and Y’wiei and maybe even the WHOOLE territory if we tried to bring peace to his clan again, because I think we somewhat did something waay back then that made him hate us but I don’t know hehe.” Chizi said. “So... he’s a bad guy who wanted to commit war on us if we ever tried to bring peace again? That’s the stupidest reason to commit such a stupid thing!” I said. “I mean, we never have done war to be honest, so basically this is kind of why we don’t wanna do it.” Chizi said. “Well heck, if a king like that is wanting to do war, I’ll do anything to stop it.” I said. “But... you’re an amorevolous dragon. Amorevolous dragons don’t fight in wars! Only other species or basically just people who are warriors can be able to!” Chizi said. “Then I’ll be the first one.” I said. “Um... not to bweak the purty here, but um... when are you going to tell a story?” Nizui said. “Oh, yea. Um...” I said as I tried to think of a story, since that Kritana story really got my brain all fuzzled up. “How about let’s just talk about that story Mom always tell us before bed?” Nizui said. “Oh!!! I love that one, can we, can we?” Chizi said as she repeatedly kept shaking me. “What story?” I asked. “The story about Insurlis, the leader of all dragons.” Nizui said. “Oh, that’s a story I can perfectly tell about.” I said. “Yay!” Both of them said. As I was about to tell my story, I felt a bit weary and my legs felt like they were going to break all of its bones, I mean, we have been walking for quite some time and that it’s really hot outside right now. “Gosh dang... I feel weak. I knew all of this walking was a bad idea.” “But, I thought walking was good for you.” Chizi said. “Hun, too much walking is bad.” I said. “But still good right?” Chizi said. “No. Too much of walking is bad. In a matter of fact, too much of anything is bad.” I said. “Darn.” Chizi said. “Can we just do the story already!?” Nizui said. I looked at Chizi in ignorant anger. “Nizui just gets mad if he has to wait too long for a story, since he likes going on an “astral” adventure when he’s listening to stories.” “Seems fair.” I said. “Before we do that, let’s find a nice little something to sit on.” “But we’re not even past The Egg Center!” Chizi said. “Yea!” Nizui said. “You have to wait. We got like, plenty of time to go to Cibosity Market, ok?” I said. “Alright...” Both of them said. I was feeling really tired and weak because of all of this walking, man, I’m really wishing for Ms. Visuren to finish her meeting already, cause I need a break, and it’s not even close to the afternoon yet. I’m not trying to say these kids are annoying and stuff, they’re really kind and nice, but after dealing with something in the morning, and having a tiring 1 ½ hour walk to Inresit Lake, and then having to walk a ton of miles just to get to Cibosity Market, it’s just internal pain. I can see why we dragons have wings. We sat by one of the benches that was near us, and I made one of the loudest groans in history, cause I, was, beat. “Whew, that took some power. I can’t believe I’m used to stuff like this. I don’t wanna feel old already, heck, I’m barely even on that scale now.” It was really going to take some time before we even bother get even a single glimpse of Cibosity Market. “Well, Zeruiah, what can we do? I don’t wanna sit like a lump... that’s on top of another lump.” Chizi said. “Come on Chizi, we can wait. Remember the last time we had to sit in the Castle for like 5 hours, just to wait for Mom to come pick us up?” Nizui said. “That was the worst pain I’ve ever met in my life.” Chizi said. “Same, but hey, at least we waited patiently right?” Nizui said. “Until we instantly fell asleep as soon as we got home.” Chizi said. “Oh yea. We fell asleep so fast... it’s like getting knocked out but you’re doing it to yourself.” Nizui said. I looked at Chizi from my tiring, weary body. “Well, I guess guys can just walk around if you want.” “Oh, no! Mom said that doing that without parental supervision is very bad!” Chizi said. “You’re a toddler and you can say supervision perfectly, I don’t see how you can’t wander around without supervision.” I said. “Well, Mom did say dragons can easily learn how to speak at a young age.” Chizi said. “It takes over 40 years for a dragon to be able to do that.” I said. “Well, I’m in the 50s, so that counts, right?” Chizi said. I sighed. “I guess.” As I was still talking to Chizi, I then noticed somebody who was walking by. “Hey, who’s walking to us?” Nizui said. “Get out of grown folks business! This may be just a random person walking through The Egg Center.” Chizi said. “Yea, and obviously to go to Cibosity Market.” Nizui said. “Stop, don’t remind me of that!” Chizi said. “I just did. I’m just so hungryyy.” Nizui said. “I’m hungry, too, but we have to let Zeruiah rest.” Chizi said. “When Zeruiah finish getting her rest, let’s fly to Cibosity Market instead.” Nizui said. “Yea! That way, we can get there faster and she doesn’t have to worry about being tired!” Chizi said. “Is it ok if you can fly us to Cibosity Market instead of walking?” I then made a low breath of relief, now noticing that they feel my pain and that they just want the easy way out. I’ve walked enough for today, we’re going to fly until we’re purple. “Sure, let me just stand up and stretch myself and my wings a bit, and we’ll go.” “Yay!” Both of them said. “Wait!” The strange dragon said, that was coming from the distance. “Zeruiah, I need to tell you something!” “Aethelhard? Is it you?” I said as I suddenly noticed Aethelhard coming to see me again. I thought I really broke his heart and didn’t want to speak to me for days... I guess like brothers and sisters do, he gave me another chance. He ran as fast as he could to me, and after a few seconds of running, (and a few milliseconds of flying), he finally got to me. He was panting out of exhaustion. See, I’m not the only one who gets tired of walking. Well... that was running, but, you know what I mean. “Phew... woo. That took some energy. Anyways, Zeruiah, what are you doing here?” He asked. “Is that the thing that’s so important?” I said. “Yes.” He said. “Seems fair.” I said. “I’m just taking care of Ms. Visuren’s children while she’s out to attend a meeting in the Kekjai Kingdom.” “Ah, I see.” He said. “Also... um, sorry about this morning. I really putted my 2 cents in everything, huh?” I said. “Yea... you did. But hey, I forgive you. I know you didn’t mean it, I’m just... really sensitive when it comes to stuff like this.” He said. I suddenly gave him a tight hug to give him that ‘I’m Sorry’ present. He felt happy when I did that, which meant that I was really feeling bad for myself. And yea, I may be rarely filled with guilt, but sometimes when it comes to him, it’s a whole new story. He then gave me a tight, but tighter, hug back to me, and we’d just stayed hugging each other while Chizi and Nizui was literally confused. “Um... what’s going on?” Nizui asked. “It’s... a long, complicated story, but you know, ‘adult’ stuff. Hehe.” I said. “But, you’re not an adult.” Nizui said. “Stop putting your 2 cents into everything.” I said. “Sorry.” Nizui said. “It’s alright.” I said. I then rubbed Nizui’s hair, to make him feel better. “No hard feelings, ok?” “Okay.” Nizui then gave me a hug. Woah, I sense a hug fest going on right now. “Okay, okay. Let’s stop with the affection, heh.” I said while Nizui was still hugging me. “Alright, alright.” Nizui then laughs a little and stops hugging me. “Anyways, where are you heading to, Aethelhard?” I asked. “I’m going back to Jeizumi Village to get some of my arrows and then go back to Desuri Town to back training.” He said. “Desuri Town!?” Nizui said as he suddenly jumped on Aethelhard. “CAN I COME, CAN I COME, CAN I COME?” “Um, sure. If it’s ok with Zeruiah.” Aethelhard said nervously. “Yea, he can.” I said. “Yay! Now we can go to the places we wanted to go to!” Chizi said. “Huh, I guess resolving stuff without a war actually makes everything turn out something into a blessing at the end, huh.” I said in my head. I then grabbed Chizi, as we were about to go to Cibosity Market. “Hey, when I come back from Cibosity Market, please make sure Nizui is always by you, and make sure he won’t leave. His mother will come to pick them up in hours, and if she realizes one is missing, I’m a literal goner.” “Hey, don’t worry! Your big ol’ brother got it under control. He’ll be with me the whole time, and that he won’t ever leave my side.” He said. “Ah, good.” I walk to Nizui to give me a little warning. “Hey, sometimes my brother may forget that he has you at times, so please remind him at times, ok?” “Hehe, okay.” Nizui said. I’d give Nizui a kiss on the forehead, as a way of telling him bye. “Bye, Aethelhard and Nizui! We’ll be back in like um... how long you wanna be in Cibosity Market?” I said as I asked to Chizi. “For like, an hour, maybe. Depends if I’m too satifised by it.” Chizi said. “Ah, alright. We’ll be back in an hour, Aethelhard. See you later.” I’d then give Aethelhard yet again, a quick hug and instantly flew away to Cibosity Market. Man, it feels good to fly again. 6. I felt the breeze of the wind that flew through my hair and my scales, and through Chizi’s hair and scales, too, as we flew to Cibosity Market. “Hey, Zeruiah?” Chizi said. “Yes, Chizi?” I said. “Thank you for bringing me and Nizui.” Chizi said. “Hey, that’s what babysitters do.” I said. Chizi laughed a little. “I’m glad that you’re our babysitter.” “I’m glad that I am.” I said. Now, if you don’t know, Cibosity Market is a very huge place where people can be able to not just sell, trade, or buy food, but items, weapons, everything. Except anything illegal... that’s something you shouldn’t do. I go to Cibosity Market ever so often if I’m in the mood for eating anything good (or basically any food other than berries). I was flying past throughout the other places that were below me, making it look like I was just floating or just slowly falling in the air. And man, it just felt... really good to fly again. Way better than walking.
