'Captain' Son Heung-min to take penalty kick for Tottenham without Kane

English Premier League (EPL) Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min, 31, is being touted as the team's new penalty kicker.

Tottenham head coach Enze Postecoglou spoke to English media outlet Football London on Monday (June 26) about his options for a new penalty kicker, 성인웹툰 including Son Heung-min.

Until now, Tottenham's number one penalty kick option has been Harry Kane (Bayern Munich). Kane is the club's all-time leading scorer with 280 goals in 435 games for Tottenham and has been a consistent penalty kicker.

With Kane taking penalties in almost every game, and with a high success rate, there was no room for other players to take penalties.

That's why Son Heung-min was the top scorer in 2021-22 without taking a single penalty.

However, Kane is off to Bayern Munich in Germany for the 2023-24 season, meaning Spurs will have to find a new kicker. There have been no penalties in the last two games.

"I've seen a few players trying (to become the new kicker)," Postecoglou said when asked about who will take penalties in Kane's place. "There's Son Heung-min, James Maddison and Heyshalisson," 일본야동 he explained.

"Yves Bissouma has missed 495 out of 500 attempts. But he's practicing hard," he joked, referring to another candidate.

According to Postecoglou, Son Heung-min has also been practicing penalty kicks with the team and is likely to be chosen as the kicker during the game.

Meanwhile, Son has already converted two penalties in a Tottenham shirt.

He scored from the penalty spot in the 2019-20 FA Cup fourth-round replay against Southampton on Feb. 5, 2020, and against Southampton in the 2020-21 EPL 29th round on April 22, 2021.
