Minecraft Bedrock And Java Editions To Be Sold Together On PC

Minecraft on PC has always been available for download in two distinct versions called the Java Edition and the Bedrock Edition. This will change on the 7th of June since both versions are available for purchase together on PCs.

You may be wondering what this means for you. In essence, it's one small change. A single purchase will now include both versions of Minecraft in one package. This means that there is only one vanilla Minecraft version that is available on Windows. If you already have either Bedrock or Java edition then there's no reason to worry. Mojang notes that all players who have either Java Edition or Bedrock Edition will receive the edition they do not currently own , for free, right in the Minecraft Launcher. However, it could take up to three working days for it to be available.

Heading into the future, Jave and Bedrock will be distinct games with different features. There are no new features. Thinkofdeath is that you'll end up getting both by default when you purchase Minecraft on your Windows PC Both versions are in the same launcher.

As a reminder, while Java is available only on PC, Mac and Linux systems The Bedrock Edition is available on PC and mobile devices (Android, iOS, Windows 10 mobile ), and on various consoles like Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and many more. Java is considered the more flexible version of Minecraft on PC with regard to modding but it doesn't support cross-platform play. The Java Edition has a higher performance threshold, and tends look better on gaming systems, whereas the Bedrock Edition is designed for smoother play and has shorter loading times.
