How to utilize Youtube to find music that's trending, hot and popular across other countries?
This question has been occupying my thoughts for some time. Being in the USA I am totally involved in all aspects of the pop culture. Slippers worn by Dua Lipa and Kanye west's big wife are just some of the examples. I love pop culture, and all of the participants. I'd be a perfect host for one of those Gossip & Hollywood info-talk shows which feature hosts spilling all the clothes worn by the most famous stars. The hosts then switch to the less-popular and end with blasts of the past, or sightings for start that haven’t been seen in a while. I'd share all the news and gossip with love, enthusiasm, while current hosts just play a few, but never be able to relate to the content.

As such I'm trying to incorporate more music from other countries to my collection of listening music. To get started I'm trying to determine what is popularity in other countries. I started by looking up the top European monoliths, like Germany as well as the UK, France and Sweden. After a long time on Youtube I believed that I was a pro who could find any information it wanted. It wasn't that easy. The only thing one can see are the top and most popular music of their country at best. So I checked other websites to determine if they had the top 20 most watched videos on Youtube for their nation. However, most of them were outdated and nobody wants to write about top 20 songs each week. This is meant for television. There are also hits-parades and similar items.

I tried it again.. but after weeks of finding nothing or even a handful of, and not being able of find any current source of the most popular songs from other countries , I was ready to give in. The best option was by far to utilize a free-proxy type plugin within Firefox (usually FF has better plugins, more love from the developers, I would guess) which could connect me to the Internet through someone else who was located in a different nation and I could browse Youtube as if I were located in Spain or Germany. It was difficult to trust these connections and they were slow. However, this was a viable solution. The lack of quality sources and the need to find reliable ones were getting to me.
It was the Top 20 Youtube most popular videos page. It was able to load up to two dozen Youtube videos, and it also gave the USA chart. Amazingly, Top 20 German trending music videos loaded.. It doesn't matter how it happens it was awe-inspiring. Very easy, very fast, little effort, no plugins or proxy servers, simply browse and switch languages, and your most popular tracks from Korea, Syria, Hungary, Romania, Portugal and even Czech Republic are there for enjoyment.
