Minecraft Villager Jobs: A Guide

Since 1.14 Village and Pillage, the villages in Minecraft have been completely changed. There's been a complete rework of how trading, item economy and the tasks each villager has to take on. This will be a comprehensive guide to managing trades and your villagers. At the end of this, you should have a sense of how to get the items you need. So now, let's get started!

What are the Countless Villager jobs in Minecraft?

There are currently 15 villager jobs in Minecraft. This is an overview of all the possible jobs a villager can be able to take. You can place the job block that matches the job you're seeking next to the Unemployed Villager in case you wish to apply for a job. The villager's role will determine the trades they are able to offer. If you don't have an unemployed Villager, you can demolish the job block a villager is using. If you're not able to obtain the desired trades from a villager you can break the job block, then put it back in place to reload their trades.

Minecraft has many types of villagers

Villager Appearance:

Villagers' roles will change depending on their occupation, but the appearance of villager's attire will differ in each biome. To ensure that each job is distinct, they retain the characteristics that pertain to their field of work. For instance all Farmers wear straw hats and all Librarians wear glasses.

Trading in stocks

As of 1.14, Mojang has introduced the delightful concept of 'Supply & Demand.' This basically means that if you make one specific trade too many times and the villager run out of inventory in that particular item, but prices (amount of jewels or items you need to exchange) will also increase in the event that the item is traded frequently. Trades can be made up to four times before stock runs out. Villagers will replenish their stock twice per day. The cost of an item can decrease when it's not traded.

Unlocking Trades:

Both players and villager gain experience when they trade. The next level of trades can be unlocked once the villager's levels increase. Each villager is granted 5 levels of trades that unlock more and more high-quality items. The villager's level can be displayed by a colored badge worn on their clothing. It could range from Novice (Stone) or Apprentice (Iron), Journeyman/Gold), Expert(Emerald) up to Master(Diamond).

Wandering Trader

This is somewhat unusual however there is a villager that is different from the other villager. The Wandering Trader is a passive mob that appears randomly across the world, with seemingly no pattern. When it does appear it comes with two leashed trading llamas that are essentially normal llamas but with a slight cosmetic change. Another oddity with this Villager is that it has no trading levels, which means that the trades that you've rolled with him are the ones that you're stuck with. Don't worry, as his trades will be reset next time he appears.

The deals provided by the Wandering Trader are regarded as typically obscure, and challenging items to acquire. Although they aren't particularly impressive or powerful however, they are still useful. Be quick, because the Wandering Trader will disappear after 40-60 minutes.

Popularity:

You are a certain level of the popularity of player. This is diminished by negative actions, such as attacking villager and gaining popularity by trading frequently or curing zombie villager. Negative actions can raise prices, while positive actions can decrease them.

Let's say that your village is spontaneously attacked by Illagers and you happen to happen to be in the area, and you are able to fend off the attack. You will be rewarded by the 'Hero of the Village" status effect, which will further reduce trade costs (except for trades that cost 1 Emerald).

These are the fundamentals of villager jobs and trading. You should now be able to manage a villager farm like an expert! Mojang tends to rip the rug from under our feet quite often. Trading is Persiancat's blog complicated due to Supply & Demand mechanics and popularity functions. You can exploit these features to greatly help you, or even cause havoc to the trading economy on your Minecraft server. I hope you find this article useful. I wish you all the best and good luck!
