Mojang Announces the Closing of its Card Battle Game and Offers One Year Of Playtime
Mojang means Minecraft. But that's not the only thing the Microsoft-owned developer tinkers away at. Scrolls was an online battle video based on cards game that's accessible on PC, Mac, and tablets. The developer announced that the title was ending its life and that it would end development. Although it doesn't offer any explanations for the tense end, we reached out to find out. Mojang claimed that it won a legal battle against Bethesda by being able call the game "Scrolls" but was barred from naming sequels. Mojang promises to keep the servers running for another year, which means you'll have twelve months to finish the latest update and levels, which were released only this month.
Update: A Mojang spokesperson confirmed that the launch of the "Scrolls" beta was an overwhelming success. Tens of thousands of players played every day, and many of them remain active today. The game is no longer able continue to grow in a continuous manner.
