Basic qualifications
Education and experience preferred
Ideally, you should have previous experience in banking or financial services.
- Experience with EIGRP and BGP routing and MPLS networks preferred
Working knowledge and experience of:
- More Cisco products, including Nexus 5k / 7k / 9k line switches, WLCs, and Cisco 38xx series switches.
- Tools for monitoring the network (Prime, StatSeeker, etc.)
- Maintain firewall policies and manage Internet content filtering.
- Knowledge of Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls, including Global Protect VPN solutions
- Expertise in switching/routing problems
- Professional certification in Cisco technologies, such as the CCNA, CCNP, and CCIE, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with end-users, third party suppliers, and vendors
It is considered a plus if you have experience with the following:
- Skype Telephony
- The Microsoft Office suite (teams, etc.)
- The use of video conferencing solutions (WebEx, Zoom, etc.)
Network security engineer Duties:
- Manage multiple organization and production areas for network connectivity and services for VoIP, WAN, video, and wireless
- Partake in 24x7 rotation call for production areas to help business
- Prescribe and survey new technologies to drive technical principles and expectations all through the business
Necessities:
- Command on NX-OS and EOS
- Experience with Clos Fabrics and a solid understanding of EVPN and VXLAN implementations and protocols
- Demonstrated network troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience in writing network configuration and design documentation
- Capacity to set priorities in more stressful situations
