The University of Southampton is a founding member of the Russell Group Universities and one of the most well-known research-oriented universities in Southampton, England. The university has five campuses and is known for its academic prowess.  History

The Hartley Institution, the forerunner of the 'University of Southampton,' was founded in 1862. After that, in 1902, the institute was renamed Hartley University College. In 1952, while receiving prizes from the University of London, it was granted full university status. Southampton is made up of seven different teaching campuses. Southampton has five campuses, with one in Winchester and another foreign branch in Malaysia. 'Winchester School of Art' and 'University of Southampton Malaysia' are their names. The main campus is located in Southampton's Highfield, which was "landscaped by Basil Spence."

Southampton students are encouraged to join the Students' Union, or SUSU, which offers numerous benefits to students. 'SUSU' organises activities such as top music and puts out effort by opening restaurants, vegetarian cafes, bars, shops, cinemas, and shops. As a result, their well-equipped library facilities fascinate everyone.

Living Accommodation

The living quarters are conveniently located near Southampton's campuses or in the city centre. Both the Halls and the rooms are reasonably priced for students. There are single or private rooms, a shared kitchen, laundry, high-speed internet, a common room, bicycle storage, accessible and adapted rooms, gyms, and recreational amenities. As a result, students can select a postgraduate flat from a variety of possibilities for housing.

Transport

Southampton has excellent transportation connections. There are bus routes that take you to Southampton City Airport in just 12 minutes from campus. In addition, the train ride to London takes two hours. The Students' Union occasionally provides a free Safety Bus to get home late at night.
