Are You Looking For Fulfillment by Learning to Be Your Own Best Lawyer

Forgiving is the noblest revenge you can show on your enemy. Although forgiveness is the greatest thing that can be done in this life, people don't do it very often. Usually when we think of forgiveness we think of someone else and usually it involves them. That is why I feel compelled to write this article to encourage forgiveness within everyone.
The first question I asked myself after I decided to write an article on forgiveness was why should I forgive my brother? What made me want to forgive him? When we hurt each other, we usually think of a way to get back at that person. When I think about forgiveness, it motivates me to think about why we even fight with our loved ones.
The most common reason for fighting is competition. Sometimes we compete for things. We want to be the best of what we can do. If we are in a weak position, we may use that as an excuse to score points against another individual. Whether it's a physical battle or verbal battle, forgiveness is the answer.
Sometimes, people try to hurt us in order to test us. They may taunt us, push us around, or give us a hard time. They may not even mean any harm but just testing us to see how much we can withstand. They can only do this because they feel like they have some sort of power over us.
Some of these people have control over us but they don't have total control over us. similar web page can't make us do anything we don't want to do. But when we forgive them, that gives them the ability to have any kind of control over us. And that's where forgiveness comes in.
When we choose to forgive, we send a message to those who would test us. It says; "I am at peace with you. You cannot manipulate me. I forgive you."
So when we receive insults, we need to take a moment and decide if we want to respond. If we don't, then we will only fuel more resentment and anger. Instead, we can choose to forgive. When we choose forgiveness, it tells the person who has offended us that we do indeed accept them the way they are.
Forgiving may not be easy for some of us. But we have to do it. And if we are not careful, then someone may try to take advantage of our forgiveness. But if we take the path of forgiveness, then we will find that life will be easier for all of us.
We may not be perfect. But neither are we perfect, in the eyes of God. When we sin, it's not because we don't know any better. Rather, sin is an act of weakness. To be strong and to be forgiven is a wonderful gift from our Creator.
One of my favorite sayings is from the Bible: If you love others, you will also be loved. It's time to let go of the victimization complex that we have created for ourselves by living in fear and hatred of others. In order to move forward, we need to be forgiving. Not only to ourselves, but also to others. We can't walk the walk and talk the talk if we won't forgive the ones we hurt.
A forgiveness is simply accepting the fact that you were wrong. It doesn't mean you believe that the other person is right, or that you agree with what was done to you. You have to decide this for yourself first. Once you accept the fact that you were wronged, then you can move on and heal the wounds and move forward with faith that God will bring you healing.
Healing is having the ability to let go of past hurts. The unfortunate part about forgiveness is that sometimes those we think hurt us subconsciously will resist being forgivenessed. In those cases, it can be a painful process. Don't let it destroy your life. Instead, take baby steps towards forgiveness. Try not to push too hard, or you may scare the person.
In my book, "You Can Be Your Own Best Lawyer," I share some interesting ways to forgive those who wronged us. But, I encourage you to work slowly so that you can get a clear conscience and release of self-condemnation without being thrown into a prison of self-pity. When forgiveness is the best revenge, then we can have peace in our lives and walk confidently into the future. Think about it.
