How To Play Multiplayer Minecraft: Pocket Edition
Minecraft Pocket Edition is great fun by itself. But, it's even better when you have friends. Here's how.
Multi-play is not recommended. Download the latest version (0.12.1) to ensure you and your friends have the most up-to-date features. It costs $6.99 USD.
Playing Minecraft Pocket Edition locally
Local play means that you can play locally with up to five of your friends, but only if you have the same Wi-Fi connection. In your game settings toggle the "Local Server Multiplayer” switch on.
First, choose the world you wish to play in. Next, load that game onto that person's device. This device will now act as the host.
To allow your friends to join, tap "play" and choose the new world (highlighted blue) that appears at the top.
That's it; they're in! Get ready to dig, create, explore, or run around chasing creepers-whatever you're into.
Connect to Minecraft Pocket Edition gaming server
Servers can be used if you wish to play with other players over Wi-Fi.
Servers can be permanent online worlds that players from all over the world have created, and have graciously opened up to other players.
Most servers require registration. However, some are open to everyone. To find a server, try MinecraftPocket-Servers or Minecraft Pocket Edition Servers and browse for a world that you'd like to join.
