What Is Youth?
What is Youth?
(a cruel chase towards a dawn that never ends, bills filled with transactions on medications spent)
Is it Cigarettes?
(why the fuck are you smoking lights? just like your dad, always going halfway, never known to show up when things go bad)
Is it Sex?
(the subtle allure, of having someone close, to tell your secrets but you know deep down, they’ll never keep them)
Is it Rebellion?
(running to nightclubs with fake IDs and fake friends, drinking cheap gin, and dancing with that girl with the blue hair, that acts like you’re not there)
Or is it a childlike thirst for innocence?
(celebrating ages lost, a life spent in a gilded cage, with four white walls, encasing self-fulfilled prophecies inside yu gi oh boxes.)
Doesn’t matter at all
(the psychotic delusions, grandeur from the fountain)
Pointless to care
(a world in need of help, a narcissistic urge to survive it)
You don’t care
(trapped in a cycle, generational curses bestowed by my mother and father, from the deepest parts of their heart, where the stench of corruption finds a home. You were always alone.)
I found myself
Struggling through the pain and sorrow, if the days tomorrow lead to more medicinal bottles, then I’m taking, I’m taking, I’m
Maybe the days of imagining yourself flying through the clouds wondering about this vast, vast universe never amounted to anything at all
