Korea Volleyball Federation Expands Rookie Player Award Eligibility to ‘3rd Year’
The Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO) has expanded the list of eligible players for the Rookie Player Award to ‘3rd year players’.

Until now, KOVO granted 'Rookie of the Year' status only to players in their first season.
However, there are not many players who actually take the court in the V-League from their first season.
KOVO said, "Starting from the 2024-2025 season, we will expand the scope of eligible candidates for the Rookie Player Award from players registered in the current season to '3 years including the current season and the two seasons immediately preceding'," adding, "By expanding the scope of eligible candidates for the Rookie Player Award, more players will be eligible for the Rookie Player Award."
“This decision was made to increase the authority and value of the award by giving opportunities to players and selecting outstanding, competitive players as Rookie of the Year winners,” he explained.
The KOVO board of directors decided to maintain the compensation scale for the men's 2024-2025 season at KRW 5.81 billion, including a salary cap of KRW 4.15 billion and an option cap of KRW 1.66 billion.
The minimum burn rate is also the same at 2.075 billion won (50% of the salary cap).
