History
The University of Roehampton was founded in 1975 as the Roehampton Institute of Higher Education in the United Kingdom. Roehampton University was one of London's first public universities, dating back almost 180 years.
Four teacher training colleges, Digby Stuart College, Froebel College, Southlands College, and Whitelands College, were founded in the early nineteenth century to provide academic excellence for women. In 1975, the four institutions combined to establish the Roehampton Institute of Higher Education.
The University of Roehampton was officially renamed Roehampton Institute of Higher Education in 2011. The University of Roehampton is a well-known public university in London that offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes to both domestic and international students.

The University of Roehampton has two campuses located at prime locations near the beautiful Richmond Park, offering a scenic beauty. The students of Roehampton University can experience the big city life, owing to its location that is right at the heart of south-west London.

Living Accommodations
All new students at the University of Roehampton are offered a guaranteed accommodation for their first year. The cost of on-campus options for accommodation may vary from £3,500 to £10,000. The fees include all utilities, internet access, contents insurance and safety testing for personal electronic goods.
There are various off-campus accommodation options for students. They can opt for a high-end room to enjoy complete privacy or go for an affordable option and save money. The halls of residence at Roehampton offer the best value for money in comparison to other accommodation options.

Transport
The University of Roehampton offers hassle-free transport for its students due to the location being at the heart of a dynamic network of transport links. There are around 20 buses an hour commuting from the main site to Whitelands and providing links to Barnes station, Richmond, Putney, Clapham Junction and more.
There is a dedicated free bus service for students and staff going back and forth every 20 minutes between the campus and Barnes Station. The service is expected to extend from September 2021, where it will open routes as far as Wimbledon Station, hence connecting London tram and overland train services for all students and staff.
Students can also commute to the city by train, car, or even cycle. Students can also enjoy a 30% discount at Transport of London services.
