Minecraft Player Utilizes NASA Data to Create A 1:45 Scale Hawaiian Islands Map

We have videogames that will keep us entertained during an outbreak. If you're looking for more destinations to visit, the Minecraft player has recreated the Hawaiian Islands in a "fully playable" map that includes the entire chain of islands available to explore. The map is accurate due to the fact that it uses NASA satellite data.

As the creator Frank Cesco explains, this is a map that has a 1:145 scale therefore a single meter is now equivalent to 45 meters of actual ground. The scale of the Y-axis is actually slightly exaggerated at 1:22, which helps create a more varied map to navigate. The total map size is 16,663 by 10,567 block, so there's plenty to explore.

You can find instructions on how to download the map for yourself in the description of the creator's YouTube video. Frank Cesco's name may be familiar due to the comprehensive map of Europe that he released in the summer of last year at the smaller scale of 1:32.
