'Minecraft Dungeons' will Arrive in April 2022
Game developer Mojang last year announced that it was working on Minecraft Dungeons -- a blocky version of the classic dungeon crawlers. We are now aware of when it will finally arrive. The game was originally scheduled for release in 2019, but Microsoft is now claiming that it will arrive on Xbox One, PC and Switch in April of 2019.
The game is unique in its Minecraft appearance and style however, it also is a departure from the series' standard formula. Instead of letting the players let their imaginations run wild on a vast, wide canvas, Dungeons is an adventure game that is full of quests, characters and items, and can be played by up to four players online.
this that and the other
Mojang's Dungeons is an unfinished project for Mojang, but it's not their only Minecraft spin-off. Mojang was also behind Minecraft: Story Mode, the narrative-driven adventure game which proved quite popular when it first launched in 2015.
According to Microsoft's latest trailer, which is rather vague players who sign up through Mojang will get the chance to play Dungeons first. This could be a hint of an initial beta prior to the official launch in April. It's not known when exactly this will occur.
