1 minute, 14.38 seconds was her personal best, set in the fifth round of the World Cup last month, and nearly a second behind the Korean record of 1 minute, 13.42 seconds.

 

This is the first time that Kim Min-seon has ranked in the top 10 in this event at the World Championships. Min-seon Kim participated for the first time in the 1000m event at the 2020 World Championships where she placed 23rd, while last year she placed 11th.

 

Min-sun Kim, who started on the course outside of group 6, passed her first 200 meters in 17.80 seconds, fifth overall. She then passed the 600 meters in 7th place (44.85 seconds) and she ultimately finished in 8th place.

 

Min-sun Kim earned her first World Championships medal by winning silver in the women's 500m the day before.

 

Kim Min-seon, who has completed the schedule for this competition, returns to Korea with the national team on the 20th and prepares for the Sprint World Championships to be held in Insel, Germany next month.
