Im Joon-beom, Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 41st National Para Sports Games. 

 

Visually impaired middle and long-distance runner Im Joon-beom (24, Gyeongbuk) has been named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 43rd National Para Sports Games.

 

He received 10 of the 34 votes cast by journalists on the final day of the Games.

 

Lim competed in the men's T13 track and field event in Jeonnam, South Korea, and won four titles in the 800 meters (2:11.19), 1500 meters (4:32.45), 5000 meters (17:19.88), and 10-kilometer marathon (35:54), setting new Korean records in all events.

 

"I felt like I was walking on clouds when I heard the MVP news," said Lim. "I'm grateful to everyone who helped me from the beginning of my athletic career until now."

 

"I want to be remembered as a hard-working and sincere athlete, and I will continue to train hard and improve my times," he said.

 

Kim Ji-hye wins the Rookie of the Year Award at the 41st National Para Sports Games. 

 

The Rookie of the Year award went to Kim Ji-hye (17-Gwangju), a visually impaired field athlete.

 

Kim won three titles in the F13 category, setting new Korean records in the discus (22.98 meters), javelin (21.27 meters), and shot put (7.06 meters).

 

"Next year, I hope to win the triple and continue to break Korean records and be selected for the national team," Kim said.
