The Difference Between Anime Couples and Real Life Couples

Cute anime couples make you desire to fall madly in love with somebody new, or somebody familiar all over again. Either way, you will always be tempted to follow the characters as they bond with their own crew, whether it's friends enemies, or lovers. But just because this is an anime series doesn't mean it has no more room for some exciting, romantic bonding.

Most anime fans know that romance is almost always featured in a story. anime couples are no different, whether it's between anime boyfriends girlfriends, or anime girlfriends. But what do you normally do when the subject matter isn't romance? Are you stuck waiting for your favorite show to end so you can watch another one, or are you constantly refreshing your page on anime fan forums for new suggestions and announcements on where to find more anime couples? There are several ways to approach this question, and I'm going to explain some of them below.

First off, I don't think you're going to be satisfied with a story if you don't get at least a little romance in it. This may be especially true of animes that feature only girls. If the hero and heroine are just friends, their romance will be secondary at best. If the hero is smitten by the heroine, it can become very romantically involved in the story, which may make the reader eager for action and excitement. So, look at anime couples as just that: couples.

When you're following an anime series with romance in it, consider the main conflict, then look for how the characters handle it. For example, in slice-of-life anime such as slice-of-life romance Hime, the main conflict is still love, but the characters pursue their own interests at the expense of their relationship. They do things like go sightseeing together, go shopping, go to the beach...they do practically anything together other than have romantic encounters. Animes like these are called "slice-of-life" anime, and if there's romance at play, it tends to be secondary to the theme of the story.

When it comes to anime couples, the theme is still about relationships, but it's more of chronological couples. In a slice-of-life anime, the theme is love, but the characters are pursuing their own interests in the relationship. For example, in slice-of-life anime Death Note, the main conflict is still the death of a person, but the main couple, L and M, are solving murders that were committed by the same person. There's a strong connection to the case because it was also revealed that the killer is mentally unstable and mentally unsound, and he had written a number of killer notes before committing his crimes. These notes also revealed what he considered to be his weaknesses; for instance, he wrote that he preferred a certain food (out of a need to feel better about himself).

Some anime series do not have romantic scenes at all. These anime couples may have children, but they are not romanticized or shown to be involved in romantic affairs. Examples include Yu-Gi-Oh and Dragon Ball Z, which have little to no connection to each other. It is not that anime creators do not have the ability to produce romantic stories, but since the focus is usually on friendship and family, they choose not to focus on relationships between characters.
