Long-Delayed Minecraft Amiibo Will Arrive In September - IGN

Nearly two years after Minecraft's Steve joined the DLC roster of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, his (and Alex's) amiibo finally will be available in stores on September 9.

Twitter announced the release date and price for Minecraft's amiibo. Alongside the post, fans also got a short video with a first look at the final designs for the Steve and Alex amiibo, which are truly faithful to the characters' original blocky designs.

Initially announced for a spring 2022 release. However the Steve and Alex amiibo were delayed to 2022 because of a logistics delay and production delays.

Now that Minecraft's Amiibo Collection has a release date set, Nintendo is closing in on its Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo line. Steve was the last character left for the company to convert to amiibo format. However, it is still not clear if Sora would receive an amiibo.

We reviewed Steve as a DLC fightr in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate gave his gameplay 7 stars, calling his faithful representation "impressive" but also pointing out the limitations of some mechanics that can "can lead to a lot frustration."
