Minecraft with Ray Tracing is Available for All Windows Q0 Players
Minecraft's ray-tracing feature for Windows 10 has made its way out of beta just eight months after the feature first became available to testers. The addition of ray tracing support for NVIDIA's RTX graphics cards transforms the sandbox game's appearance into one that's better looking. As we said in our hands-on article earlier this year the realistic lighting, reflections, and shadows that this feature can bring make Minecraft feel more immersive. While the game remains very simple, the game's lighting appears real. Shadows and reflections can make it feel like you're actually there.
You will be able to observe the benefits of ray tracing in the game if are using a computer equipped with one of the NVIDIA GPUs that support the ray-tracing. Only worlds and maps that use a physical-based texture pack will benefit from the advantages. It's not necessary to do anything, it's already on by default. Other players who don’t have the feature will be able to view the worlds in the game’s normal visuals.
In its announcement, NVIDIA says ray tracing puts more stress on your GPU, which is why it makes use of its DLSS AI rendering technology to ensure that Minecraft with RTX can continue to run with minimum 60 FPS at 1920x1080. Advanced GPU models (RTX 3080 and 3090) can play the game in 4K resolution at over 60FPS.
You can download worlds that you can enjoy with ray tracing on from the Marketplace or create your own using assistance from NVIDIA's starter pack in case you require it. NVIDIA and Minecraft are also making two new worlds available free of charge: Colosseum RTX has already been released, while Dungeon dash RTX will be available soon.
