Churchill Downs Proposes New Indiana Casino Development
Churchill Downs Incorporated today announced that the company has filed a proposal to develop a destination gaming facility, Queen of Terre Haute Casino Resort, in Vigo County, Indiana. CDI has also filed an application with the Indiana Gaming Commission seeking Indiana's open casino license for Vigo County.
"Churchill Downs has a track record of delivering 147 years of incredible entertainment experience and has significant expertise in developing the best casinos and gaming properties across the United States," said Bill Carstanjen, CDI's chief executive. "We are proud to offer our vision for this global casino, a true destination resort designed to attract visitors and economic activity to Terre Haute across the Midwest."
The Queen of Terre Haute will feature up to 1,000 slot machines, 50 table games, a 125-room luxury hotel, a state-of-the-art Twinspiers sportsbook, and several food and beverage offerings. From its name (inspired by Terre Haute's nickname "Queen City of Wabash Valley") to its concept and design features across the facility, the Queen of Terre Haute will reflect the unique heritage of Vigo County and its surrounding area.
"We appreciate the local encouragement we received in evaluating this opportunity," said Carstanjen. "Over the coming days, we look forward to presenting our case to the Indiana Gaming Commission as to why our proposal to build Queen Ter Haute is in the best interests of Ter Haute, Vigo County, and Indiana residents and businesses."
According to an economic impact study conducted by economists at Purdue University, Queen Terre Haute is estimated to generate $190 million in regional economic impact per year, including 1,000 construction jobs and 500 permanent jobs. According to the study, the project is expected to increase the gross regional product of western and central Indiana by 2% per year. 파워볼사이트 추천
