DIY Dart Board Backer From Cedar Fence Plank

So you can see the kids have been missing the dart board quite a bit, so we're gon na try to fix that by building a backer for the dart board. https://felixfurniture.com/best-dovetail-jigs/ welcome back Rick in from the nerd cave. As you can see, the kids have really messed up the wall with the dart board, so I am going to actually relocate the dart board and I'm going to move it, and this is kind of like what I want to build. Actually, I'm gon na modify this a little bit. I don't want to be as tall I'm gon na go three foot tall and about four foot wide. I'M gon na use boards this board actually to go probably in two spots, one here, one towards the top put the dart board in the middle. We just started sketching out, and that was our first idea. I think I'm going to come up with a couple more but hey. This is what we're going to need: we're gon na build it out of cedar fence posts and a piece of 1 by 2 pie. You'Re gon na need a saw some screws, a drill tape measure and should be able to make it happen. Okay, the first thing we're going to do is we're gon na cut down these boards down to three feet: [: Music, ], [ Applause, ], [, Music, ], [, Music, ], [ Applause, ], [, Music, ]. Alright, next we're gon na go ahead and cut down our boards, the size, [, Music, ], [, Music, ]. Okay, guys, I got a mole laid out the way I want this to go. Oh, it does not have enough room to lay it. The other way so bear with me here, but next we're gon na take that 1 by 2 piece and we're gon na put one across the top. Then one across the bottom is to kind of hold everything together. Then I can attach it to the wall. The dartboard can go right here in the middle. I think I think it's gon na work. I like this Cedars, a sweeter fence. I, like it, smells like cedar. It'S a little bit softer with the rough sawn pieces, so I think it'll handle the darts there. If I have to, I always put some kind of spell or something to make it more official, but I'm gon na try it like this. For now, really it's just to keep save the wall a little bit. I know it's gon na. Take it there to be wild with the darts, it's not going to save it perfect little bit. I think this will be a good start. I will flip this board over though cuz it has a footprint right there I step on it so or at least somebody did so, and I will flip that over I'll cut the Pisan in will be back well, unfortunately, there's footprints on both sides, so I think I'M just going to don't put this along the way it is. You know front our back. I don't think this is really going to matter. I think I'm gon na leave the real pieces on the back use that to attach it into the wall. So it'll stand out from the wall about that far. So, let's, let's get some screws, get this screw together: [ Music, ], taking it up more inches from the bottom, just to make it straight and level for millions. I'Ve already lined up the bottom pieces, I'll double check them this again before I completely tighten it down. That'S why you feel girl, I'm using a Shinto quarter, screws yeah if you're gon na do this pretty girl on split wood, [, Music ]. So here it is mounted on the wall level on it, put the dart board here. What tricks don't show up like? I thought they would so that's pretty good rough sauce here is a kind of a main cave look. I disappeared in the wall couple: spirits, four screws, so let's get the dart board on it and let's see how it looks: [, Music, ], [, Music, ], more screws, [, Music, ], [, Music, ], [, Music ]. So do you have? It looks pretty good. I think I think it's going to save my wall from more dart attacks. I probably I have a video on this 3d printed, dart holder that I put up here next to the dart board, I'm printing another one and I'll put it on this side. Give it a little symmetry there's going to be more videos coming for this dart board. One thing we're going to do is put a dart board marker that shoots a laser, so we shoot it down on the floor, put a line down on the floor right there.
