Canton's First Monday Trade Days
First Monday Trade Days may be a well-known event in East Texas, but that doesn't stop hundreds of thousands of visitors from visiting in the Canton area Canton for four days each month. The trade days are open from Thursday to Monday, on the Monday before First Monday every month, hundreds and vendors set up shop for hundreds of shopping opportunities.
What started more than a century ago as a flea market has become home to some of most exciting, cutting-edge furniture, antiques, and collectibles located anywhere. Over the past 150 years, a lot of things have changed at what was once the Original First Monday Park; but the genuine, down-home human relationships between vendors and shoppers are the reason people keep returning.

October 28th-October 31st
December 2nd-5th

According the folks in this market, idea of First Monday Trade Days started back in the 1850's when the circuit judge would take a journey from Canton on the First Monday of each month. All over the county would travel to Canton to observe their court matters. Overtime, residents would bring their own personal items, be it be produce, livestock or other items of their own, to sell or trade. Then in 1965, First Monday outgrew the town's Town Square so it was moved to the current site. And the rest is history...
First Monday Trade Days is made up of a variety of private sellers so odds are that, regardless of how many times you go it's impossible to truly see all of it. The flea-market is situated on hundreds of acres with over 700,00 square feet of shopping.
Attending First Monday is free, however, the majority parking lots that surround the trade ground charge $5 for parking
