That's a Bit Vain.

This year I completed my undergraduate studies and received a first-class degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh.

Unfortunately, McEwan hall was closed for renovations, so I couldn't complete my degree. As a result, the only time I've been able to appreciate McEwan was during my second year Probability exam. It was not a great moment to be looking at the murals on the ceiling.

We used Usher Hall as a model, as it is where most chamber music and symphony concerts are held.

We were placed in the school for Engineering because of the small size of the informatics class. This meant that we had two honorary degree speeches. I don't know what the engineer did. The Computer Science speaker got the deal to develop minecraft for the X-box.

It's a good bet.

One of the distinctive things about the University of Edinburgh's is that we don't wear a mortarboard cap. Instead all graduates share the same hat. When they walk across the stage, the vice-chancellor taps each student on the head.

Fun fact: Piers Sellers offered the cap to be transported into space. Since spaceships sometimes explode (and the hat is a bit important) an emblem of the university was sent to space and later embroidered on the hat.

I was booed on the head by an oversized space-hat.

I was lucky enough to to get enough tickets for both my parents and grandparents. My family had visited a few weeks before and we walked together across Ireland and the highlands.

I had one ticket left-over and Jammy was free on a Saturday morning. Jam-Jam, the father of polar bears, was able to attend my graduation.
