Minecraft's Big Wilderness Update Arrives June 7th

It took several months, but Minecraft's The Wild Update is nearly there. Mojang and Microsoft will release The Wild on all platforms on June 7, and it is as extensive as they claimed. The refresh adds two biomes Mangrove swamps as well as the "deep dark" which conceals deadly mobs (such as the Shrieker and Warden) and also special resources. You can also sail in a boat equipped with a chest, meaning you don't have to carry your supplies if you're traversing a lake.

The upgrade also includes the dirt block (made using water and dirt naturally) as well as a popular mob of collectors of items (the allay) and a frog that develops from tadpoles. It even produces "froglights" if it is attacked by magma.

The launch comes after Mojang was forced to reconsider its expansion strategy. The initial plan was for a deep dark biome to launch in 2021. However the biome was renamed The Wild after the developer struggled with the size and complexity of its two-part Caves and Cliffs Update. Occities While it isn't unusual that the Minecraft team wants to keep its game relevant more than a decade after its release, the schedule suggests it was a bit eager to please.
