Nevada approves remote registration of cashless gaming accounts

 Visitors to Nevada casinos will now be able to create, verify, and fund cashless betting accounts remotely after the Nevada Gaming Commission approved Sightline's petition to change gaming regulations. Sightline Payments filed a regulation change petition to provide Nevada casino customers with a streamlined, cashless experience.

The new rule allows Nevada casino customers to remotely identify themselves by creating their own betting accounts and uploading government documents. Before the rule change, customers of Nevada casinos' cashless gaming had to physically identify themselves with their employees, resulting in delays and suboptimal consumer experiences. The change only affects the creation of casino betting accounts, not Nevada's current practice of creating sports betting accounts.

After holding two workshops in November and December 2021, the Nevada Gaming Control Board unanimously decided to recommend remote identification of betting account changes to the Nevada Gaming Commission. Nevada regulators continue to make changes that drive cashless gaming innovation after deciding in June 2020 to allow cashless gaming within Nevada casinos.
